2018
It's Fall At Last!
The long hot summer is gone and the holidays are here …
This summer seemed to last forever. Wild Fires roared across our beautiful hill country as well as rain and floods devouring lives and homes.
Bear Creek took a turn as a roaring river but now lies gentle in her banks. We were busy with our music and even added another instrument to our musical multitude, the fiddle! Time to dust off the Hammered Dulcimer and get ready for Christmas... Happy Holidays!

Visit the Holiday Market for local handcrafted vendors on Sunday, November 25th. The North Pole Flyer will depart from the Bertram Station this Sunday instead of the normal Cedar Park location. Winter and Spring came and went before we knew it. Summer is half over and here on the the creek it's been one of the hottest ever. Wild Fires have roared across our beautiful hill country devouring without pity. We continue to play 3rd Saturday's Humming Bird Events at Flannigan's Distillery & Winery.
Calling all Leos! We'll play for a special event at the 290 Vinery in Fredericksburg Saturday, August 4th.
Saturday Septermber 1st is Flannigan's 2nd Anniversary Celebration. It's sure to be very special!

The Austin Homebrew Festival celebrates the best of Austin’s homebrewed beers, meads, ciders, and kombuchas, and features award-winning homebrewers from all over Central Texas.
Guests will have the chance to vote on their favorite brews and help crown the winner for this year’s coveted People’s Choice Award.
This festival supports two GREAT organizations, AHB Community School, a 501©3 non-profit school and the Mothers' Milk Bank at Austin (MMBA), a non-profit organization who saves the lives of preterm and medically-fragile infants.

2017 was a wonderful year. 2018 is filled with promise and plans. Music and brewing is always top of our list. We'll continue to play third Saturdays at Flanigan's Distillery and Winery in Bertram, Texas. We continue to work toward a new CD and are very excited with our slow but sure progress.

Cold and Clear

Our beautiful creek is currently a very large puddle. Hurricane Harvery devastated so
much of Texas and yet, it didn't even top off our creek. Find a reputable charity and give if you can. We are still performing close to home every third Saturday at Flanigan's Distillery & Winery in Bertram, Texas. We're pleased to tell you there's a new local brewery call Lazy Tree Ranch on Texas 29 between Liberty Hill and Bertram. New beginnings are always so exciting and we wish them the very best on their journey!

Fall is here …
Nothing more wonderful than crisp mornings, singing birds, the beautiful red cardinals and noisy blue jays announcing that the holidays are here!
We started celebrating by attending Dickens On The Strand in Galveston, TX. The Annual Christmas Party at Flanigan's Distillery and Winery is a very special event. We'll play December 16th from 2 - 5. They will be celebrating this Joyus Holiday Season highlighting the small businesses of Bertram, Texas.

The creek is still running and beautiful. We have slowed down our music schedule a bit to catch up on the work needed on this six acres and old house of ours. Still hope to get that new CD done that's been in the works for far to long. We are performing close to home every third Saturday at Flanigan's Distillery & Winery in Bertram, Texas. You’ll typically catch us at a winery or brewery but July 14th we'll be at Typoon Texas Water Park! You never know where we’ll turn up. Check our calendar and check us out!

This is Fall?… days in the 80's nights in the 70's...
Seems nature isn't quite sure what to do with this weather. We still had fireflys up to a few weeks ago! Our colors are turning slowly and we hope our creek will soon look as beautiful as the picture on the right from last year. It's been mighty pleasant weather for playing outdoors though. We'll play at the Flat Creek Estate Winery & Vineyard's 11th Annual Thanksgiving Shopping Spree on Friday November 25th. It's a real pleasure to play there again and the weather should be perfect! Come stroll and sip amongst the many offerings from a multitude of vendors.

Ah Yes… summer is in full swing now!
The wildflowers have nearly disappeared. The creek has slowed to a melodic burbling flow. The cicadas are singing their lazy lullabies lulling us to a peaceful, porch sitting state of consciousness. Our homebrewed beers are perfect porch and music companions as the heat of the evening melts away to cool, starlit nights. Our hops are climbing and wild captured yeast is quietly growing. Yes, all is well here on Bear Creek.

Blue Bonnets are everywhere along with many other Texas wild flowers. Spring is a time of growth and we're growing too! We're making headway on a new CD and proud to be working with the amazing John Inmon. John's skill as a Texas guitarist is legendary and he also has amazing recording studio skills.

Spring has definitely sprung around here! Baby chicks running everywhere and wild flowers galore. The creek is running strong and clear, singing her song along with a symphony of frogs, crickets, birds, whispering winds and the loud droning of cicadas looking for love. The days are bejeweled with a rainbow assortment of butterflies, dragonflies and lizards. The nights dazzle with fireflies and stars. It's like being inside a living, breathing masterpiece of art...
Glorious flowers abound and there is water in Bear Creek!
March was wonderful. We've made so many new friends and being part of the first live recording of the SONGWRITERS ACROSS TEXAS televison show was amazing! April 18th we're back at FLAT CREEK ENOTECA. Such a treat to play where original music is encouraged! Be sure to get your tickets for the Safe Place benefit Sunday, May 3rd. This is your opportunity to enjoy a fantastic lineup of talent and contribute to a very important cause. Bring the kids!

October 20
October is half over and the heat lingers!
Burn bans abound and our hearts go out to all those folks suffering from the Hidden Pines fire in Bastrop County. 4,582 acres have burned so far, 64 structures lost as of the 19th. Looks like they’re makin’ steady progress in this battle of the blaze but lots of folks are going to need help. Things are pretty quiet here on the creek, the green has given way to brown and the leaves are snowing down on us daily. Here and there we see a bold display of gold and red trees competing with our beautiful sunsets. Crisp mornings, hot afternoons and warm evenings give way to a chilling touch of wind that snakes through the trees. Winter is steadily marching towards us and we are already feeling the holiday spirit as we dust off and rehearse old and new Christmas music.
We are excited this month to add another brewery to our musical trail! Last month we had a wonderful time in Cedar Park at Ironsight Brewers for their Grand Opening… This month we’ll celebrate a Pre-Halloweened Last Saturday Event at another fine new brewery, Bindlestick Brewing Company in Leander, TX. There is nothing better than enjoying fine wine or beer at the wineries and breweries that had the vision to bring them to life!

September is upon us and the heat lingers on. Good! because there is still plenty of outdoor fun to be had !
Labor day weekend is a perfect time to join us at the Grand Opening of IronSight Brewers in Cedar
Park, TX. Come celebrate with one of their special
beers, food from the Mission Dogs food truck and our music! Beers include their core line up of 4 beers,

WE'RE SO EXCITED!
Sunday July 12th, catch us playing "Grandma's Old Guitar" on the SONGWRITERS ACROSS TEXAS televison show!
We had a wonderful Fourth of July playing at the Rancho Ponte Vineyard in Fredericksburg and followed up by playing on the Pedernales River while watching an amazing fire works show!! One more scheduled show this month on the 25th at Fiesta Winery in Fredericksburg then, it's to the studio to make a CD!

TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN'!
Can't believe it's time to change the clocks already! Last month it seemed as if Spring had sprung. The last couple of weeks here on Bear Creek winter came back with ice and snow. More ice is on the way and we sure could use some sunshine!
Exciting things happening!
We welcome a new venue into our family, Home Town Pizza in Jonestown, TX. A family owned and friendly restaurant. Live music, pizza, beer and wine perfectly entwined!
We are VERY EXCITED that we will be filmed and featured on the SONGWRITERS ACROSS TEXAS televison show. The taping is on the 31st at The Edge of Town Saloon in Pflugerville, a great venue!
We are also very, very pleased to be included a special fund raiser for Safe Place on May 3rd. SafePlace is ending sexual and domestic violence through safety, healing, prevention and social change.

It feels like spring time around here on Bear Creek! Warm sunshine, blue skies, a perfect time to update our web page. We wanted to make it easier for y'all to see what we're up to. We'll be regularly updating this page with news and events.
IT'S BEEN A BUSY YEAR ALREADY!
This year started with a wonderful surprise. We were featured as the January "Spotlight" on AcrossTheStage.com. We've been busy with bookings and only have a few dates open between now and August. We're pleased to be at the FLAT CREEK ENOTECA
in Marble Falls, TX every third Saturday night and we regularly play at the RANCHO PONTE VINEYARD in Fredericksburg , TX. We consider all of our venues a part of our family, just like you!
